On the sunny afternoon of October 17, 2003, thomas picked up a guitar. then john picked up a radio shack keyboard. thus the john and thomas experience was born.
"i thought that being in a band would make me look cool," said the lead keyboard player and singer, john harper. Harper also stated, "maybe someday i will work my way up to a keytar. it will make me look even cooler."
Thomas Park, 17, agrees. "he could use a little more 'coolness'. I will stick with my guitar. I'm already cool enough, being student body president, and i was junior prom king. oh yeah, and all the girls dig me"

the band hopes to someday write some songs. "we hope to someday write some songs," stated park. "so far i only know 2 chords, the 2 in 'horse with no name' [america]. and i can almost play 'be like that' [3 doors down]"
so far, the john and thomas experience has performed one song, their rendition of "i belong to the church of Jesus Christ", in park's front living room. "every good band starts out small. we're hoping next week to get a gig in john's backyard. it will get some good publicity," says park.
the band hasn't decided whether or not john or thomas's name will go 1st. however, harper stated, "we won't worry about the name. it's all in the music."
